Scion Case Study, Student Housing Lofts, Wisconsin
- Description: 200,000 square foot residential apartment building, home to 300 residents, spending about $300,000 in electricity and water annually. Energy usage was 44% above the state average for a building of a similar type.
- After a detailed Energy Efficiency engagement, DBA identified over $120,000 in three-year net savings through low-investment retrofit initiatives. Of which, about $32,000 came in the form of one-time incentives. For many of the recommended measures, payback occurred instantaneously due to DBA’s identification of incentives that covered materials and installation costs.
- Additionally, DBA identified a competitor property management firm who is expected to unveil a LEED certified building within months. Our DBA Sustainability Audit, created a strategic evaluation determining whether LEED certification is a financially viable option to pursue.
